Miles Hiked: 0.6 (0.9 for Elijah because he didn't go to the bathroom when told)
Last minute breakfast plan changes meant we got to meet up with Kandyce and the kids as they headed from AZ to CA. I wish AZ hadn't stolen so many of my favorite people, but it was definitely nice to spend some time with some of them. Eli in particular was SUPER excited because he got to see Blake.
Then a short hour drive up to Montezuma Castle and Montezuma Well. It was only 94 instead of 110 so I count that as a plus. AND they were nice short .3 mile loop trails. Eli did the trip to the Well twice because we got to it and he realized he was suddenly about to pee his pants even though we told him to go to the bathroom like an hour before.
Today was also our first "make sandwiches from the side of the van while standing in the blazing heat" day. The first of many, but SO excited to be back visiting National Parks again.
We finished our very short hiking trips and headed to Albuquerque to end the night with gas station pizza (it was actually really good pizza) and swimming. PLUS driving through a pretty awesome thunderstorm. We have to at least get 1 in on every trip.
Tomorrow, our real "destination", TEXAS!
