We got to sleep in! That was nice. And in theory only had to drive 5 hours today. Today was a pretty fantastic day.
We had a nice lazy morning and headed to Schlitterbahn. As we parked our car I realized I left our passes at home (ugh), but Schlitterbahn is much cooler than Knotts and they just replaced them for free. We had an overall great family day. Lots of waterslides, lazy river-ing (they have a "rapids" portion in their lazy river that was pretty awesome), and even a couple rounds of pouring rain. Warm and raining so it didn't slow us down. Well, actually it did a little because slippery floors.
Remember the horrible hotel from yesterday? That was Houston. Add to that the dumb mask rules in only Houston I decided I don't like Houston.
That was solidified today as it took 500 years to get through Houston (well like 2 hours) so it added an extra hour to our drive.
Now we are in our San Antonio hotel that we are supposed to be in for a few days. They aren't off to a great start with no parking spots left, our room phone doesn't work, they gave us 2 towels for 5 people, no sheets/pillows for the sofa bed, Justin's not a fan of the smell, the sink drains into a PVC pipe, and the ice machines aren't working. But we have 3 bedrooms, so that's cool.
